"Now it's one of the worst" it's still like top 5 servers on Java lol. Is it worse than it was a few years back? Easily.Ĭan it be fixed? Yeah, but not to the degree it was once at. Plus, I think the fact Minecraft turned more into a franchise than a game played a part in it.Ĭause in 2014, we didn't have "Minecoins" (brainless idea), we didn't have "Java Edition" - I think Microsoft slowly sort of took the knife to Minecraft from trying to make it something like just a game into something worldwide (They succeeded but they also sort of killed it). If I had to be honest, Mineplex didn't get the full brunt of the decline - MCSG died, shutdown - Badlion shut down, Hypixel went from a massive playerbase like 60k and I don't think I've seen it get more than 15k this year. Whether it be people leaving due to the game getting boring (Hytale is probably what will take its place), the infestation of cheaters or how toxic the community is (videos are available). Honestly, there's probably a whole load of reasons but the main one might be Minecraft itself: It sucks that Mineplex has lost so many players over time, but it's important to take into account that MC itself is a sunset game: as new, more sought-after genres or games come out, more people will leave MC in favor of those titles. In this case, people having bad experiences with the hardcore community will likely perceive all of Minecraft's multiplayer community to be the same.

In the end, it's a combination of things, but a negative experience with one group of people will spark a negative and generalized viewpoint of a majority. Ranked PvP/Practise/HCF is no longer as relevant as minigames are, but they still hold a large power within the community (one of the reasons PvP hasn't been changed to 1.9+ as a standard many people still enjoy 1.7 PvP which is accessible through 1.8). HCF servers have a long history of griefing/doxing/threats & witch-hunting due to their non-censored nature, and in combination with their dominance as a platform for PvP, have become the 'poster child' of Minecraft's multiplayer community. With the approval of using strong language (even racist/derogatory terms), as well as their tendency to be more competitive, therefore making players much more easily agitated, it's become quite a negative experience to play on those. Most of the people who leave, leave due to HCF/PotPvP.

Minigame servers generally have better communities, and even so, those aren't the best. People leave because of the sheer toxicity that comes from competitive gameplay. Even to those, who act toxic or are even tempted to do illegal stuff.Ĭlick to expand.Like just said, it's a combination of three different variables, although I'd argue that the player base is probably one of the largest reasons it's lost its grip. Only thing is to hope, that they actually grow up and realize, what they did wrong. Also about the community: It cant be changes aswell. Come up with ideas, that could bring back players. Nothing can change, that Minecraft lose players, but by the side of Mineplex, they can try to look, what could be done, to improve the server. Also with the fact, that some take the game so personal, that they even do stuff to hurt other (Like Doxing/Leaking and Ddosing) which gives a rly bad light over the community. Mostly the problems are: Toxic players, hacker, blatant/closeter cheaters and and and. Now to the players: 2019 of Minecraft is actually sad by this way. I guess this is the highest reason, why alot of ppl dont go positive against this server. Even the biggest problem of them is Gwen, which didnt had an update in ages. There where alot of game breaking bugs, missing updates and fixes and ppl got annoyed of that. Now to Mineplex: It's not a secret, that more or less stuff works not so well. Maybe the interest of minigames got back over the years too? idk just a guess Like said above, alot of ppl got annoyed bc of the 1.9+ combat system (With a reason why big PvP server stay at 1.8). Same goes for updates: some are more and some are less good. Ppl got bored of it, got older, less time or whatever a personal reason is to stop playing. It was really hyped up, but now its kinda gone. I go from 3 sides: Minecraft, Mineplex and Players.ġst of to Minecraft: The game gets nearly 10 years old and thats already a long time for a game.
